Spelling the English language
Is harder than anyone THINKS
I thought I saw a puddy cat
But actually it was a LYNX.
At breakfast I sought a bit of PORRIDGE
Thwarted, all I found was FORAGE
A chill in the air caused me to SHIVER
For breakfast, all I found was LIVER
Who glued this language together?
They may need help from the LORD
I was looking for a hammer,
But found only a SWORD
A chap I know is a little slow
Some even call him a DUNCE.
How do I know him?
He comes to the farm and HUNTS.
You see, words may sound alike
But what explains their SPELLING ?
I try to make sense of it,
But explanations are not COMPELLING .
